Colonial Psychedelia: Billionaire Alchemy and the Rise of Psychedelic Big Pharma
Volume II
Abstract
This article is written by an insider—one who worked in close proximity to New Approach, MAPS, and Dr. Bronner's during key moments of psychedelic legislation and movement building. It is a critical intervention into the growing financialization and corporatization of the psychedelic space. This article is a critical intervention into the growing financialization and corporatization of the psychedelic space. It extends the foundational work laid in "Colonial Psychedelia" by examining how billionaires, most notably Peter Thiel, have infiltrated, commodified, and rebranded psychedelic medicine into a clinical-industrial complex. Drawing from counter-terrorism experience, ancestral memory, and decolonial analysis, the author challenges the assumptions behind the so-called "psychedelic renaissance" and offers a poetic call to reclaim the sacred. This volume specifically names the geopolitical network between "Israel", Peter Thiel, ATAI Life Sciences, and U.S.-based decriminalization movements. ,
Introduction: From Renaissance to Reckoning
They said it was about healing.
They said it was about "access."
They said it was a revolution.
But if you’ve been paying attention, if your body knows the difference between sacred and spectacle, you’ve felt it too:
The co-optation.
The repackaging.
The eerie silence when you name the real names:
Peter Thiel.
COMPASS Pathways.
MAPS.
ATAI Life Sciences.
"Israeli" biotech firms.
What began as a grassroots healing movement has been hijacked by global actors with histories of surveillance, war profiteering, and data monopolization. This essay unearths the deeper geopolitical, ethical, and spiritual implications of this shift, especially the emerging axis between Silicon Valley billionaires and "Israeli" psychedelic start-ups. ,
I. The Puppetmaster of Technofascist Psychedelia: Thiel, Surveillance, and the Illusion of a Renaissance
Peter Thiel is not simply a billionaire investor, he is a strategic figure in global surveillance infrastructure. As co-founder of Palantir Technologies, Thiel helped engineer systems now used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track and deport migrants (The Intercept, 2019). Palantir’s predictive policing models mirror the racialized logic of control and criminalization.
Now, Thiel has moved into psychedelic biotech through ATAI Life Sciences, where he is a key investor. ATAI, in turn, has invested in COMPASS Pathways, which seeks to patent and medicalize psilocybin. Thiel’s philosophy has always been techno-libertarian and eugenicist in nature. He once wrote that democracy and freedom are incompatible and has publicly expressed interest in life extension technologies for the elite.
"The terrain is sacred. But they are mapping it for extraction."
Thiel’s involvement in psychedelics must be read as part of a broader strategy to influence not only tech but also consciousness itself.
